A Few Facts About Grandsire

Location -
Grandsire is a hill in the Lake District to the west of Windermere. It is the subject of a chapter of Wainwright's book The Outlying Fells of Lakeland. His recommended route starts at Windermere railway station. Grandsire stands at 823 feet (251 metres) and has a cairn on a rocky top. The summit offers good views of Windermere Lake. Schoolknott Tarn is not too far from the summit.
