A Few Facts About Dodd - Lorton

Location And Summit -
Dodd is located in the Lorton area of Western Lakeland. It is usually visited on the way (or back from) the Whiteside ridge. It's height is at 454 metres (1,490 feet) and has a drop of 39 metres. It is classified as a Birkett and is in the Grisedale Pike Group of fells. The summit is covered with grass and heather and has a small pile of stones at it's highest point. The views are extensive over the Lorton valley and across to Low Fell and Fellbarrow.
